People will purchase products that are no longer physically present, paying for what appears to be only a "volume of air." However, this does not mean that products no longer exist. In future stores, all products will be presented as three-dimensional images generated by advanced spatial imaging technologies. Customers will be able to experience products through haptic presentation technologies, feeling textures, shapes, and usability. They will be able to sit on a virtual sofa, experience the comfort of a bed, or examine the usability of products as if they were physically present.
